“Memo” is the best medium to capture those fleeting moments of inspiration or store long memos that can include checklists, images, web links, scanned documents, handwritten memos or quick sketches. You can easily keep all your devices in sync via iCloud so that your memos are always readily available.

Features

Powerful note-taking capabilities

• Add various attachments: PDFs, photos, maps, web links, etc.

• Record audio and transcribe it directly into a memo.

• Use the built-in document scanner to scan paper documents.

• Protect sensitive or personal data by locking memos.

• Create checklists. Make daily shopping lists, wish lists or to-do lists, then tap to check off items.

• Apply different text styles, such as headings or body text, bulleted lists, and highlights.

• Tap the V arrow next to a section heading to collapse text.

• Add tables to quickly organize information.

• Sketch directly in a memo or within a PDF in the document using your finger or Apple Pencil on a compatible iPad. Select various brush styles and colors, and add lines and grids to the memo to make writing and doodling easier.

• Create quick memos without opening the app - add “Quick Note” to Control Center and then swipe up from the bottom-right corner with Apple Pencil on iPad, or use Fn-Q on the keyboard.

Organization and search

• Search memos, handwritten content, and even text in scanned documents and photos (such as receipts or bills).

• Link memos together to string ideas, content, or any information. Try typing >> when writing a memo to quickly add a link.

• Save memos in folders and subfolders, or add tags for categorization. Type or handwrite tags directly in a memo, such as #Cooking or #Expenses.

• Automatically organize memos into “Smart Folders” based on filtering criteria. Create rules to filter memos by conditions such as creation date, checklists, and attachments.

Collaboration

• Collaborate on entire shared folders or specific shared memos.

• Use the mention feature to notify friends of important updates and link them directly to the shared memo.

• The “Activity” view shows a summary list of each collaborator's activities by day, making it easy for you to see what others added to the shared memo while you were away.

Apple Watch Memos

• View all your iCloud memos directly on your wrist; you can also pin memos, mark off checklist items, or create new memos by dictation or Siri.
