SpectraTrace turns your device’s real sensors into a set of investigation instruments — and tells you exactly what each one measures.

INSTRUMENTS
• M1 — a magnetic field meter built on the device’s three-axis magnetometer. Level scale, live strip chart, learned baseline and event detection, with data export for every sample.
• REM — sensor-triggered word prompts. A magnetic, thermal, acoustic or touch event picks a random word from the list, shows it and speaks it. Every session is saved with time, source and magnitude.
• Spectrum — the magnetic field as sound: a continuous noise bed that brightens and swells as the field changes, so you can hear it without looking. Tap the octave bands of its analyser to cut them from the noise and clean the sound.
• Frequencies — a live 20 Hz–20 kHz spectrum of what the microphone hears, with the voice band marked, an adjustable event threshold and optional live speech-to-text.
• Spectra Cam — camera recording with filters (low light, false colour, negative, edge map…), an SLS body-pose overlay and a live magnetic readout.
• Audio RePlayer — every recording made in the other instruments, ready to play back, share or delete, with spectral band cuts for focused listening.
• Hotspot Map — NEW. A live heat map of the surroundings built from OpenStreetMap and USGS data: power lines and transmitters, historic and burial sites, rivers and water, rock and faults, combined into a 0–100 index by four popular theories. Walk with it: the index follows your GPS, a two-tone alert marks zone entry, and you set the theory weights. Move the centre reticle to explore and inspect the strongest nearby contributors. Requests use a rounded grid point rather than your exact position.

EXTRA INPUTS
Add an external Bluetooth LE thermometer (Govee, Xiaomi, SwitchBot or any standard GATT thermometer), the microphone, or the display's touch surface as additional event sources for M1 and REM.

HONEST BY DESIGN
Every instrument has a built-in guide that explains what the phone actually measures, how each event rule works, step by step, and what a reading can and cannot tell you — with links to the primary sources. Word prompts are clearly labelled as random stimuli. SpectraTrace never attributes a paranormal cause: it records ordinary sensor observations so you can compare sessions and draw your own conclusions.

• Works offline (the Hotspot Map fetches each new area once, then keeps it). No account, no ads, no tracking.
• Export session data for your own analysis.
• Choose the app language: English, Italian, French, German or Spanish. Word lists and the spoken voice follow it.
• Haptics are off by default so the vibration motor doesn't disturb the magnetometer.
• A chart-recorder design that prints readings on ruled paper in one typeface, streamlined camera, spectrum and playback controls, and iPad layouts that place the display beside the controls on wide screens.
• Faster camera preparation plus improved audio, recording and app lifecycle reliability.

Requires a device with a magnetometer. The Hotspot Map uses your location while open and public map data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, USGS). Spectra Cam needs camera access; Frequencies and the recorders need the microphone; speech-to-text uses Apple's speech recognition.
