OmniOutliner 3 for iOS introduces OmniOutliner Essentials, adding a host of much-anticipated features to OmniOutliner Pro, allowing more people to enjoy the pleasure of structured writing. Both versions are available for a free trial!

With a two-week free trial, you can try out all the features of Essentials and Pro. After the trial period, you can still continue to use OmniOutliner to view documents for free.
Features of the ESSENTIALS version (available via in-app purchase)
- Dark Mode: OmniOutliner's UI adapts to the background color of your document.
- Drag and Drop: You can drag text into the document. You can also drag rows between two documents or drag them to other apps.
- Keyword Filtering: Use the new filter icon in the toolbar to filter the outline by keyword.
- Simplified Inspector: Access simplified document and text style options through the redesigned Essentials Inspector.
- Improved Outline View: The row handles and status note cells are now consistent with the row indentation level.
- Recent Documents: You can view recently edited documents in one place, whether they are saved locally or synced via another service such as OmniPresence or iCloud.
- Templates: Use OmniOutliner's new template selector to choose a template or apply a theme to an existing document.
- Print: You can now print documents via the new "Print" option in the "Share" menu.
- PDF: Send a PDF copy of the document using the new PDF format option.
- New File Format: OmniOutliner 3 uses the brand-new .ooutline format introduced in OmniOutliner 5 for iOS: a flat (zip-style) file that is more compatible with third-party cloud sync platforms.
- OPML Mode: When editing OPML files, features not supported by the file format are hidden or disabled.
- Pro Document Compatibility: Documents containing Pro features are fully viewable in Essentials, and there is also an option to import a copy with all Pro content removed.
Features of the PRO version (available via in-app purchase)
OmniOutliner Pro 3 includes all the latest features of Essentials, from all the features of OmniOutliner 2 to the following:
- Omni Automation: Cross-platform JavaScript scripting.
- Focus: New section lists allow you to focus on specific areas and get an overview.
- Status Bar: After focusing or filtering, a status bar appears to indicate that the content has been hidden, providing convenient access to the entire outline.
- Drag and Drop: In addition to text, you can drag images and other files into the document.
- Filtering: Create and save keyword filters. When syncing with OmniOutliner 5 Pro for Mac, you can also apply the advanced filters of the Mac version of OmniOutliner.
- Optimized Inspector: The content and text style inspectors open in a unified view on smaller iOS devices and as a unified toolbar on larger iOS devices to improve access to the inspector catalog. When there is space available, the inspector toolbar remains on the screen for more convenient multiple changes to items.
- Outline Bar: You can now place the outline bar anywhere in a multi-column document.
- Excel and Powerpoint Output
- Password Encryption: Add a password to your document to protect it with AES-256 encryption.
- New File Format: While .oouline files are by default in zip format, package files are still provided for certain use cases, such as for version control.
- OPML Mode: Edit the metadata of OPML files and set the text encoding in the document inspector.
