The Sun Surveyor can predict the positions (azimuth, altitude, time) of the sun and moon through its 3D compass, map, camera (Augmented Reality AR), and ephemeris modes. The Sun Surveyor has many applications: movie and photography scene inspection, architecture, solar panel positioning, gardening, real estate, earth science exploration, etc.! Plan every sunrise and sunset moment!
Through interactive controls, you can:
- Arrange activities for golden hour, blue hour, sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset
- Speculate at which moment and from which angle a certain scene can catch the sunrise or sunset
- Check the paths of the sun and moon through Augmented Reality (AR), and speculate when the sun or moon will be at a specific position in the sky
- View the positions of the sun and moon: at any location on Earth, at any moment of your choice
- Observe the paths of the sun during the summer solstice, winter solstice, vernal equinox, and autumnal equinox
- Prepare for night photography through the Milky Way and star trail functions
Product features:
- Azimuth and altitude of the sun and moon, sunrise and sunset, shadow ratio, moonrise and moonset, moon phase and illumination %, twilight time, summer/winter solstice sun paths, spring/autumnal equinox sun paths, golden hour, blue hour, culmination, etc.
- Display star trails using the Milky Way band and the image of the Galactic Center, celestial compass
- 3D compass - Use the built-in compass function of the device to create a 3D map of the positions of the sun and moon
- Map mode - Display the positions of the sun and moon on an interactive flat map. Lock your photography location and then align towards the sun or moon phenomenon you want to photograph. With the new Google Maps API, you can view the terrain, rotate the map, etc. Additionally, you can view the elevation and calculate the vertical angle difference between two locations.
- Augmented Reality AR photography mode - Use the lens of the device to see when the sun or moon will be at a certain position in the sky, or when it will be blocked by a building
- Time Machine slider - Adjust the date and time to view astronomical phenomena at any moment
- Photography opportunities – Interactive list shows key periods, inspiring photography composition ideas. Includes shooting moonrise and moonset during golden hour, perfect timing for stargazing in complete darkness, etc.
- Location search – Find the positions of the sun, moon, and Milky Way through a powerful search tool and plan everything as you like
- Street view panorama - The map mode includes a 360-degree interactive panorama (if available at the location you choose)
- Import, export locations - Import landmarks from Google Earth.kmz/.kml, export locations to share with others or for backup
- Offline use (excluding map mode) - Enter coordinates, store and load locations even without a data connection or GPS function
- Nine home screen widgets, two lock screen widgets
- Send screenshots and details
- Shadow ratio and projection of the sun, speculate the shadows cast by the sun
- Use local time zone, or manually select a time zone
- Data of elevation positions
- Magnetic declination correction
