Kids can modify and test each machine to learn about force and motion, action and reaction, input and output, conservation of energy, mechanical advantage, and trade-offs. There's also a companion guide, "The Wonder of Machines" manual, available for free download, which highlights activities for demonstrating, building, and discussing simple machines.
