Attention, humans: four puzzles have landed.

Area 13 is a free collection of daily puzzle games from 13Beacons. Everyone gets the same puzzles, and new ones touch down every midnight Pacific time. Each game opens with a quick how-to the first time you play.

NIGHT SIGNAL
Decode one five-letter transmission in six attempts. Tiles flip to show which letters are in the word and which are in the right spot. Answers come from aliens, monsters, ghosts, cryptids, folklore and the strange edges of space, and every reveal ends with a short field note.

FLIGHT PATH
Fly one route through the numbered beacons in order, covering every square. Dark sky opens onto stars as you go, and the landing pad stays locked until every square is flown. Grids grow from 5×5 on Monday to 7×7 on the weekend.

CROP CIRCLES
Land one saucer in every row, every column and every colored field, with no two touching, not even corner to corner. Every farm has exactly one answer you can find without guessing. When you crack it, the saucers lift off and leave glowing crop circles behind.

REDACTED
Today's classified file hides a handful of themed words that fill the whole grid: cryptids, UFO sightings, haunted houses, witchcraft and more. Trace each one through touching letters to lift its redaction. Every letter belongs to exactly one word.

This is your Area 13 night-shift operator, transmitting from just past the cactus line. We have been busy while you slept. Here is what we beamed down:

TWO NEW PUZZLES
• Crop Circles: we parked one saucer in every row, column and field of a farm, none touching, not even at the corners. Find where. When you do, we lift off and leave you some art.
• Redacted: we lost a classified file. Its words fill the whole grid. Trace them through touching letters to un-black-out each one. Do not tell the government.

UPGRADES TO YOUR EXISTING PUZZLES
• Flight Path: unflown squares are now dark sky that opens onto stars as you fly through. A squares counter keeps score, and the landing beacon stays locked until every square is flown. Humans kept landing early. We noticed.
• Night Signal: tiles now flip as each guess is decoded, as tiles should.
• Every game opens its how-to the first time you play, and a small legend sits under each board.
• Optional hints for Crop Circles and Redacted live in Settings, off until you ask.

FOLDING PHONE DETECTED
Designed for iPhone Duo. Unfold it and every puzzle splits around the fold: board on one half, controls on the other. No tile, square or key sits in the crease. We checked. Twice.
