Plenilune is an almanac of the sky. Every night, an engraving of the Moon recomputed from its real position; every day, an almanac page: the state of the sky, and what people have read into it for as long as they have looked up. The sky the way it used to be kept — in pictures and in writing, one day at a time.
TODAY'S PHASE
The moon as it truly is today: its name, its illumination, its age, and the exact time of the next full and new moons. Under the date, the place everything is computed for, with moonrise and moonset times.
THE DAILY NOTE
An almanac entry every morning, drawn from five registers: the sky, history, folklore, old sayings and nature. The ring around the moon that means rain tomorrow, the Harvest Moon that once gave farmers an extra hour in the field, what people used to read in a waxing gibbous. What has been read in the sky, and what we know of it now.
TWELVE MOONS, TWELVE NAMES
Wolf Moon in January, Sturgeon Moon in August, Beaver Moon in November. Each carries its engraved emblem, the origin of its name and the story that goes with it.
GO BACK IN TIME
The calendar holds every phase of the month, day by day, with the eclipses, solstices and equinoxes ahead. Each day opens onto its own card: rise, set, distance, apparent diameter. The current month is free; beyond it, Premium opens the whole span — the moon on the night you were born, the one over a first date, the one over July 20, 1969.
ECLIPSES, AS THEY WILL BE SEEN FROM HERE
Solar and lunar, computed for your location: Plenilune flags the ones that will be visible from where you are, with their local times, and counts them down for seven days. On the night of a lunar eclipse, the Earth's shadow really does cross the disc on screen. An eclipse is meant to be watched.
WIDGETS LIKE PRINTS
On the home screen and the lock screen: the day's phase, the month's calendar, the almanac note, and the next moonrise or moonset. Quiet, legible, updating on their own.
NOTIFICATIONS THAT ONLY EVER TALK ABOUT THE SKY
Four lines to choose from — full moons, new moons, rare events, the daily note — all off to begin with, and permission is only asked the moment you switch one on. Each announces something happening in the sky and stops there. Full moons and new moons are free.
EVERYTHING IS COMPUTED ON THE DEVICE
Plenilune opens and works: no account, no advertising, no tracking. Location is used for one thing only, computing your sky — rise and set times, and which eclipses reach you: allow it, type in a city, or do without. The rest fits inside the device, on a plane, in the subway or deep in a valley.
PLENILUNE PREMIUM
To go further: the full text of the daily note; free run of the calendar, backward and forward; the twelve named moons, each with its own page, engraved emblem and story; notifications for rare events — eclipses, supermoons, blue moons, solstices — and sixteen app icons to choose from: four phases and twelve engraved emblems. An annual subscription, or lifetime access, once and for all.
Plenilune is the work of one person: the astronomical engine, the engravings, the writing. Premium is what lets the almanac keep being written — and stay free of advertising.
Plenilune Premium is offered as an auto-renewing annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; it is managed and canceled in your Apple Account settings.
