SoundLevel: Noise Estimate

SoundLevel uses microphone amplitude to provide an approximate uncalibrated sound-level estimate in dB. Log sessions and compare how your estimates change across places and time.

SoundLevel is not A-weighted, calibrated, or a certified measurement instrument. Values can vary by device, case, placement, and environment. Do not use the app for safety, occupational compliance, medical, or legal decisions.

WHAT SHIPS

- A large live estimate with approximate minimum, energy average, and maximum values
- Descriptive level bands and familiar examples for personal comparison, not safety classification
- A user-chosen threshold alert that is not a safety warning
- Recorded sessions with history, search, sorting, notes, and charts
- A rough guideline reference based on an 85 dB and 3 dB relationship when the estimated average is at least 85 dB
- No guideline time or percentage calculated below 85 dB
- Six-week summaries, week-over-week comparison, and highest logged estimates
- A reference offset that shifts the displayed estimate but does not calibrate the device
- A one-page PDF, CSV history, and share card with the limitations included
- Local storage with no account, cloud sync, analytics, or tracking

The live estimate with minimum, average, maximum, level band, and reference offset is free. One lifetime purchase adds session recording, history and trends, threshold alerts, rough guideline comparisons, and PDF and CSV export. There is no subscription.
