VMEGAfm brings the distinctive character of the Twisted Electrons MEGAfm to iPad as both a full-screen instrument and an AUv3 plug-in.

At its heart is a 12-voice, four-operator FM synthesizer built around sine-wave operators, eight algorithms and hands-on control of every operator. Shape clean electronic keys, deep basses, metallic percussion, evolving pads, animated sequences and unruly digital textures.

The sound goes beyond clean FM. VMEGAfm’s output stage was meticulously modelled from original MEGAfm Mark I schematics and refined through tests with real hardware, preserving its compression, saturation, quirks and unmistakably fuzzy character.

BUILT FOR IPAD

The landscape full-screen app presents the complete instrument as a tactile hardware-style panel with an expressive two- or three-octave keyboard.
The included AUv3 instrument uses a compact tabbed interface designed specifically for the space available inside GarageBand, Logic Pro for iPad, AUM and other compatible hosts. The full-screen app and AUv3 share the same sound engine, factory library, user presets and global preferences.

EXPRESSIVE MPE

VMEGAfm supports lower-zone MPE with up to 12 independent voices, per-note pitch bend, pressure and slide. Pressure and slide can drive separate modulation buses, allowing each note to move and evolve independently.
Ten curated MPE presets appear automatically when MPE mode is enabled, demonstrating expressive bends, timbral pressure and vertical slide gestures.

MODULATION MADE VISIBLE

Connect almost any knob or operator fader to one or more LFOs using quick Link controls or the complete modulation matrix. Animated ghost controls show the effective modulation position while leaving the stored base value visible.
External velocity, mod wheel, aftertouch, MPE pressure and slide can override modulation buses for responsive performance control.

PRESETS AND SOUND DESIGN

The factory library covers electronic keys, basses, brass, leads, mallets, bells, pads, atmospheres, rhythmic movement, arpeggios, sequences, percussion and experimental effects.
Save and categorise your own sounds, share them between the full-screen app and AUv3, or export the complete user bank for backup and transfer.
VMEGAfm is designed to be immediate, expressive and slightly unpredictable: the sound of classic four-operator FM passing through the lively character of real MEGAfm hardware.
