## A Brand New Balance
General notes usually have more and more complex text; general memos have less text and are sometimes temporary, being much lighter.
We've found that there is a brand new balance between "notes" and "memos". For example, when recording inspirations, casual jottings in life, a reverie, or the deepest feelings after reading a book, the text may not be much, but it's not that temporary either. While being lightweight, it can also have complexity, such as being given tags and associations for easier future management and review.
This is the very reason for designing the DoMemo app, a brand new personal note system, a brand new balance. Simplicity and power are never contradictory.
## Some Keywords about DoMemo
Local, full-text search, historical versions, recording, speech-to-text, iCloud Drive sync, Git sync, card-based, memory curve, 200 words, tags, two-way links...
## Beyond Simplicity, Make Yourself the Method
Notes in DoMemo can have tags or not, can have two-way links or not, can use Markdown syntax or be completely unaware of its existence, can be card-based or ignore the existence of cards, can be for scientific research or humanities, can be for writing poems or memorizing words.
DoMemo incorporates sufficient complexity but presents it in a simple form. We believe that after the organic integration of simplicity and complexity, users will have countless possibilities because everyone can make themselves the method, a methodology that doesn't require additional learning and memorization and is completely their own.
During the process of keeping DoMemo simple in design, we are well aware that it is a note system, a complete system, and ultimately, it is defined by each person who uses it.
## The Liberation Brought by 200 Words
The default maximum number of words for each note in DoMemo is 200 words, which can also be adjusted in the settings.
The 200-word limit doesn't restrict imagination; instead, it liberates the boundaries of our thinking on another level.
Due to this limit, when we need to summarize the thoughts after reading a book, we will deliberately keep it concise and essential; when we make casual notes, we don't need to consider the structural context and it's very free.
When writing becomes stress-free, a magical effect will occur. Simply put, we will write more...
## Everything Is Local First, No Need to Register an Account
The note data of DoMemo is stored locally, not relying on a server. There's no need to worry that one day the data service becomes unavailable and the notes can't be migrated.
Using DoMemo doesn't require registering an account either, so there's no need to worry about the leakage of account passwords at all.
DoMemo adopts an open file system structure, which consists of folders, text documents, as well as pictures and audio. Therefore, to back up or migrate the data of DoMemo, just copy a certain folder and paste it to the location you need, and it's done.
## Sync via iCloud Drive or Git
As the designers and developers of DoMemo, we are reluctant to access users' note data, and we believe many friends also don't want their data to be hosted by the service providers of note tools. It's not just about data privacy and security; from a longer-term perspective, it also concerns the long-term life of the note system. So DoMemo adheres to the local-first data principle.
Even with local-first, it can be synced across devices.
The note space of DoMemo defaults to sync via iCloud Drive. Simply put, each note will be additionally stored on iCloud Drive to achieve the sync effect.
If you need a sync method with higher controllability, more powerful functions, and higher stability, then you can use the Git method. Git is a tool with a certain technical threshold. DoMemo integrates this extremely powerful engine and has done a lot of automated corresponding logic; sometimes, in DoMemo, you can hardly sense that you are using Git but you actually are.
## Voice Input Is Also Great
DoMemo can directly record and insert audio into the article, and the voice can also be converted into text.
Voice as an input method is also great. After getting used to it, it will be extremely efficient. And there's no need to worry about privacy issues during the speech-to-text process. The developers of DeMemo can't obtain your voice information because all of this is the machine learning ability of your current device (iPhone or iPad) itself and can run without the network.
## Review Slowly, Remember Gradually
We need to record and also remember. Besides recording, we also need
